Mi Konisht Bedn — Nebich!. — That's what they all said at the UJA closing dinner Monday night but they "managed to keep'the talk fest going for about two hours be-; fore they gave the prchestira: a chance . . . But strangely enough: most people epjoyed all:.the .talk, :inr eluding the ones who were talking.
CA2*IPAIGN TOTAL? — First there >yas a coijipetition to keep the campaign figures going up, right there and then at the dinner'.'. . Joe Satanov, ~ campaign treasurer started out with the figures from, the official report prepared by the office on Monday, which showed $185,-000.00, only to have Tfad Lando raise him by announcing receipt of an additional $10,000, and Mrs. I>iamond, raise him anothei^ $500 for the Women's iDivisidn ... That'was. one game in which Joe didn't mind being raised, and the official figures are now as stated on the front page. ★ * ★
£NJOYABLB THANK YOUS — Bud lAndo had a great time thanking everybody, and in very witty

fashion too. He really covered a lot of ground in handing out kudos to the many- committee members and campaign workers .' . He' was equalled,if .not ioutdone, however, by Mrs. J. J. JMamond, co-chairman of tlie Women's Division, who made sure.ishe.didn^t:miss anyone of the many ardent women campaigners. We beg your indulgence for having to resort to the outworn cliche about names being "too numerous to men_ tion". .

/SCJPIUSli:, SUFBIS£ There were at leasi two surprised people at the! dinner; in the persons of Mr. and Mrs. Lando, who were the recipients: of a JNF Ciolden Book Certificate, :in •recognition of their contribution to the cause. The presenation was made by Harold Freeman.
