Jewish Historical Society of B.C. has a new Web site.
The Jewish Historical Society of British Columbia (JHSBC) launched into cyberspace at its annual general meeting Nov. 13. It's Web site, written and designed by a team of students and professionals, gives an overview of B.C. Jewish history from 1858 to the present using materials from the community's archives.
The JHSBC has been collecting personal and family histories, oral interviews, photographs and documents for more than a quarter of a century. Of interest to the public, teachers and researchers, the site also contains online links to Jewish resources, as well as a number of teaching components.
The JHSBC Web site is hosted on Canada's Digital Collections' site at httpiycollections-icgcca^hs. As well, the complete site is available on CD-ROM for $20 from the society.
For more information, contact the JHSBC office at phonc/fax 604-257-5199 or e-mail jhsofbc@direct.ca. □
