Tribute to Oueen Elizabeth II
"England is having its great nioment—again. Within a few weeks, the. new Queen will be crowned with all the pageantry and pomp which can be mustered. The stree^ are already beginning to asskme^the appearance of a giant midway. Eyen the most
respectable sections of London are giving way to the color and resplendence of a great festival by having the streets festooned with all sorts of semi-gaudy contraptions. All over the great city builders of grandstands are working day and night. Even the fronts of some of the most haughty clubs and offices are being used to earn a little extra money from the rental of the seats for the Coronation parade. The streets are full of men and women from the furthest corners of the world. Here is a be^fezzed Pakistani—and there an Acizac soldier-^here a group from Malay aind there a trim air-corpsman from Canada. England is truly going to town for this event.

Most of the plays have some reference to the "big doings" and the audiehces are quite appreciative. They are all well-attended and you must book seats early. We went to the Old Vic to siee "Henry VHI" and to the Royal Haymarket to see the new Noel Coward play. Both are wonderful.
"Rationing here has almost disappeared. The restaurants are beginning to return to their old spleiidprT-butv ypti.t stiU cannot get too much beef. The cost of
