568 wiU hold its first general meeting of the new season on Tuesday, June 21, 12 noon in the form of a Patio Luncheon at the home of Gert Ornstein, 6657 Churchill. All members and pros-* pective members are invited . The new executive was recently installed by Miss Celia Lesman of Portland, with IVIinna Loomer as the new president. A few committee appointments are still to be made, and any member wishing to offer her services is requested to do so before or at the next meeting ... A social hour will follow the luncheon meeting.

PACIFIC CHAPTER 763 wiU hold a general meeting on June 6, at the McGavin's Auditorium, 2091 W. Broadway. This will be . the first meeting of the new executive. Members are asked to be reminded of the Blood Bank which will be held at the Talmud Torah on June 14 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

FAIR VIEW BRANCH 178, Canadian Legion in co-operation with B'nai B'rith are having Oieir annual outing for hospitalized veterans on Wednesday, Jime 22, at Wigwam Inn on Indian Arm of Burrard Inlet. . . . Veterans will be transported to our chartered boat by bus. The boat will leave at 9 a.m. Entertainment will be presented during the two hour boat ride. Coffee and doughnuts will also be served. At Wigwam Inn, a hot dinner will be served and all facilities of the hotel will be available to the vets. . . . The boat ride back to the city will end at 5 p.m. and the vets will be returned to the hospitals by bus.
Co-chairmen of this event are Charles Gorvich and Ralph Green-berg. B'nai B'rith Veterans Affairs Delegates are asked to get in touch with either one of them, as much help is needed.

Mrs. Ben Kanee, Chairman the Jewish Family Welfare Bureau was chosen as one of 20 volunteer workers in the Greater Vancouver area to take the Jun ior League Provisional Course on "Know Your Community." This was announced at the closin meeting of the Family Welfare Board, held at the home of Myer Brown on May 24.
A full agenda included matters of communal interest, the most important of which was the clarification of Congress relation ship to the Bureau. Hy Altman incoming president of Congres promised an early sub-committee meeting at which the Bureau and Congress could endeavour to solve all problems.
The Social Worker, Mrs. All-man, gave the April statistical report: active cases 37; financia assistance 22; immigrants 7; new cases 3; family counselling 3 personal counselling 5. ^Thanks were expressed to Mr. C. Isman and Mr. A. Shuer for their excellent work in collecting "Moess Chittem" funds for Passover.
Plans were discussed with regard to the mechanics of the Board itself and it was decided that at the August meeting plans for a Constitution would be made
Mrs. Allman gave a very comprehensive report of the three day conference of the Child Welfare League of America held in Portland early in May at which she was the Jewish Community's official representative.
Guest speaker at the Conference was the League's National Chairman, Marshall Field IH of Chicago. He emphasized the modern trend in Social Work moving towards preventative social medicine and that on the

level of this approach, the entire community had a responsibility.
