Mr. and Mrs. Sam K. Wolch and family of Vancouver are spending a holiday in Winnipeg, where the Bar Mitzvah of their son Teddy will take place on Saturday, August 13 in the *Knes-seth Israel Synagogue. The Bar Mitzvah is' being held in Winnipeg in honor of Mr. Wolch's father, and the family will return home soon afterwards.

Miss Bert Plant has arrived here from San Francisco to visit with her parents Dr. and Mrs. G. L. Plant. They will be joined by Miss Marilyn Plant of Seattle who will spend a few days here.

Mrs. M. Parker has returned home from a visit with her children Mr. and Mrs. Max Block and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parker of Seattle.

OBITUARIES
Jacob White, age 72, passed away in Vancouver on Monday, August 1. Born in Russia Mr. White emigrated to the United States in 1901. In 1904 he moved o Montreal where he resided for 'our years. In 1908 he moved to Winnipeg where he married and lived until 1913 when he again moved to the United States for
two years, where his children were born.
In 1922 the family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where they resided for 11 years, and in 1933 they came to Vancouver. Mr. White took an active part in local activities. He' was a member of B'nai B'rith Vancouver Lodge, and attended Beth Israel Synagogue.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Leonard White and Dr. J. V. White, and five grandchildren.
Interment took place at the Beth Israel Cemetery- on Wednesday, August 3, Cantor Fred Gartner officiating. Arrangements were Iianulad by the Chevra Kr.di£h2.

MRS. LENA WISEMAN, aged 70, passed away July 27. Born in Latvia, Mrs. Wiseman came to Canada when a child of four, and lived most of her life i^ Ottawa where she married and raised her family.
She came to Vancouver nine years ago, and was a member of the Golden Age Club. She was affectionately known as "Sophie Tucker" for her ability as a singer and entertainer. •

Predeceased by her husband Israel, two years ago, Mrs. Fine is survived by a son Davij^ in Russia, two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Epstein of Sacramento, California, and Mrs. S. J. Nemetz of this city. There are two grandchildren.

Jacob David Sweid, aged 73, passed away Saturday, July 30, after a long illness. Born in Austria, Mr. Sweid came to Canada in 1899 and lived in Winnipeg and in several of the' small towns surrounding it. He came to Vancouver 35 years ago, and took an active part in the life ^f the community here, belonging to Vancouver Lodge B'nai B'rith, Schara Tzedeck Synagogue, and the Jewish Home for the Aged.
Mr. Sweid is survived' by his wife Edith, three daughfers, Sara olo of Calgary, Helen Conger of Wichita Kansas and Ami Hanson of this city. There are two sisters in Winnipeg, one brother m Winnipeg, one brother in Los Angeles, one brother in St. Paul, one brother in Des Moines and
