VISITED ISRAEL
^Before leaving on a trip to Israel last fall Abe Rothstein and his brother Sam were honored at a dinner by the Zionist Organization of B.C., for their lifetime of service to the Zionist movement. It was While in Israel that Abe Rothstein took ill. He was on the way to recovery when he returned home a few months ago, but a sudden relapse occurred last week and he passed away.
Abe Rothstein's untiring ii^ter-est in Jewish life and Zionism is demoiistrated by the fact that in 1954 he-was on(»s again elected as a member of the Board of Rep-
resentatives of the Jewish Community Council, as well as to the national executive of the Zionist Organization of Canada.
Mr. Rothstein was also a member of the Masonic Order, the Vancouver Board of Trade and the Merchant's Exchange. He served in earlier years as a director of the Community Chest.
OBITUARY
HANA ARONSON, AGED 86,
passed away recently in Zikron Jakob colony^in Israel. Mrs. Ar-onson was born in Israel and was one of the founders of her colony. She is survived* by two sons and four daughters, all of whom^live in Israel with the exception of Mrs. HaVa Reznik, who resides in Vancouver. There are 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Rothstein is survived by his wife Celia, one son, Norman; three daughters, Mrs. Leslie Suss-man of Tacomaand Marili and Rosali'' at home; a brother, the well known Sam Rothstein, a sister, Mrs. Rivke Horowitz, and
four grandchildren.
