This title is orife of the top honors awarded annually to a resident of Vancouver arid the selection is made by a special committee whidi carefully considers each nominee.
Mr. Diamond is hailed as a "great and grand fellow" in the official citation announcing him is the award recipient. A formal presentation vwU be made to him at a special award dinner, Tuesday, October 25 at the Hotel Vancouver, at 6:30 p.m.
The citation lists 15 points on which the award was made to Mr. Diamond. It states, in part:
**Under the most ^ficult circumstances, those of being an Immigrant from Europe, without friends, family or funds, he has now, at the age of 44, succeeded by good business practices and fair dealings in becoming one of the Dutstanding self-made men In the city of Vancouver.

A. J.' Arnold, editor and publisher of the Jewish Western Btllletin, has been ihvited to address the B.C. Historicai Association Vancouver Brancli on the history of the Jewish cominunity in British Columbia.
The meeting will take place next Thuijsday, October 20 in the small dining room of the Gros-venor Hotels Howe St., at 8 p.m. The meeting is open to the public a^d there is no charge for admission.
W. Erskine Blackburn is chairman of the Vancouver Branch of \he Historical Association and Bruce Ramsay is secretary. Norman Hacking is vice-president.
