SUCCESS STORY—B'nai B'rith learned this week that the" new fangled gimmicks can take second place to a good old-fashioned ChaAuka Party. . . The party proved to be a bang-up success with many more children and parents attending than were expected. . . .Talmud Torah opened the program with ah ambitious perfprmance of Chanuka songs, candle-lighting and a three-part playlet of episodes from Jewish history. . . . Beth Israel followed with candle-lighting and a humorous playlet. . . Schara Tze-deck did a puppet show version of the Chanuki^istory and the Peretz School concluded the program with a snappy rendition of
Chanuka songs and recitations.

THE GREAT RESPONSE to the BB Chanuka party showed just how much we need a new Community .Centre with a properly equipped, large auditorium. . ^ . Talking about a new Centre we understand that several of the men who accepted posts on the executive of Vancouver Lodge B'nai B'rith for 1956, did so on condition that campaign action for a new Centre will be launched during the coming year. . . . We learn that this is definitely a good possibility now that a verbal assurance has been received by the Community Council, that a piece
of land will be aUott^ for ajGOVERHME^T ASKS

well to"cry wolf," but if csih-vassers would get out oh the job, and do a proper job, then thb Talmud Torah would surely rai^e endugh money to meet its currient obligaiiohs. . . . That's Irving's opinion arid we're inclined \ to agree.
A; NEW GROUP for young adults is being launched thi§ Veek-end at the Beth Israel with a Chanuka party and dance on Saturday night, December 17. . . . It will Ije known as the B I G (Beth Israel Group) and will-be a cultural, educational and socii^ organizaitioh. for those who do not at present take part in existing groups, explains . Bryan H. Kershaw, one of the founding members.. . . The B I G will hold its first general meetirij^ on Janu-
