UNITED NATIONS—The Security Council was scheduled to meet here on Thursday of this week to consider several motions in connection with the Syrian complaint against Israel. One is a Soviet proposal that Israel pay compensation to S3nria for the damages incurred in the Lake Tiberias attadc. Another is a weet-em motion of censure against Israel.
Last week Mqrdecai Kidron, Israel acting delegation chief, conferred with Soviet delegate A. A. Sobolev and with the UN Secretary. General. The talk with Mr. Sobolev was said to be "very cordiar* and the talk with the Secretary General covered his coming ^trip to the Middle East. Both meetings were at the request of Mr. Kidron.

The officials said there is no law reqjuiring a private hospital to accept a patient. The provincial government recently received a brief from the Civic Unity Association asking for a Fair Accommodations Act, which could be made|to apply in such a case.
Frank S. Heaton, welfare administrator for Saanich, a neighboring municipality, filed the report of discrimination, after a complaint by Mrs. H. E. Wood that Manor private hospital refused to admit her mother Mrs. Flora Alexander, age 73.
Mrs. Wood said her mother iiad been accepted by the hospital but was refused admittance at the last minute "because she is colored."
George Taylor, operator of the hospital, said "we have no ward bed available for a welfare patient; Anyway, we never deal with Saanich, just the city."
Seeking to avoid further comment, he said:
"I'm not going to say anything, then I won't be misquoted. I'm not going to be. painted as a

A $25 cheque was sent by Lions' Gate Lodge to the California Flood Relief Fimd to aid tiie victims in the recent floods. A cheque was also sent to the Gordon Sinclair Fund, to aid the widow and children of tiie slain policeman.

ISRAEL AMBASSADOR ON RADIO AND TV
Michael S, Comay, Israel's Ambassador to Canada, will be featured guest on the CBC's radio and TV program Press Conference next week.
A panel of prominent newspapermen will question the Ambassador on the half-hour show, to be heard over Western <Janadian CBC TV stations at 10:30 p.m. this coming Wednesday, January 18, and over Dominion network radio stations in BC at 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19.

Vice-President of the Rabbinical Alliance of America, Rabbi Weinberger prior ^to his pulpit call in Portland, s^ed as Rabbi to the Babylon (Long Island) Jewish Community for close to
seven years. While in Babylon, which is an upper middle class suburban area near New York city, Rabbi Weinberger helped organize the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County, a progressive Day School and served as its Principal-Director without pay, for the School's initial year of operation.
Rabbi Weinberger is a graduate of the Meisivta Rabbinicsd Seminary from which School he was ordained. He received his secular education at City CoUsgs and at the New School for Social Research.
Appearing on many radio and television shows over CUB and CBIJT, Eleanor Collins is noted for her many outstanding performances which include "Eam-boola" and "The Eleanor Show." She has also performed in several Theatre Under The Stars productions. At present she appears in a weekly show (every Thursday at 5:30 p.m.) over CBU entitled "It's 5:30."
