Gordona Club of the Pioneer Women is sponsoring an Emergency Tea, in aid of Border settlements in Israel on Tuesday, January 17 at the home of Mrs. L. Yorsh, 2778 W..22nd Ave., from 2 to 6 p.m.
-The Gordonia group decided to sponsor this tea in response to gency appeal from the Moetzot Hapoelbt in Israel, to its
sister organization, Pioneer Woin-en in United States and Canada.
For some tune now the Moetzot Hapoelot (Working Women's Council) has sponsored a fund known as, '"Yad L'Oleh'^ to provide child care and social services for 80 new border settlements in the Negev. .

YOUNG JEWISH MAKES STRONG
The Young Jewish Adults Group is a new club which now holds its meetings at the Schara Tzedeck Pastinsky Memorial Library. The group was formed by •young adults who wish to participate in Cultural and Social activities with others of similar ages and desires. It seems that there are many such young people in Vancouver who want to become part of an active club where the emphasis is placed on group participation. All .of the activities of the Young Jewish Adults Group are planned so that the group as a whole can take part.
New arrivals to Vancouver are more than welcome and can be assured of a cordial reception. The membership fee is very nominal and the number of members has grown to over 35 in less than three months. The group is a democratic one and has an annually elected executive which at present consists of: Chairman, Arnold SeHgman; Secretary-treasurer, Miss Belle Stein (TA. 3983); Program cimmittee, Fred Gottfried, Miss Anne Newman; Social committee, Sammy Morris, Becky Beckman (MA. 2715), Phoning committee. General meetings are held every two weeks at which a planned cultural and social program is presented. Last Sunday Abe Arnold, Editor of the Jewish Western Bulletin presented a' thorough analysis of the present Israeli situation, which benefited aU present.

Pioneer Women in United States and Ciinada have therefore been called upon for emergency action to provide funds to make possible the unabated con-tiniiation of vital services in the border settlements made possible until now by Yad "L'Oeh."
Everyone is invited to attend the tea next Tuesday for this special emergency cause.
