UJA needs big cieanup before closing
United Jewish Appeal
The
campaign reached the grand total of $182,082.66 as of September 10 this week. However, with an estunated $40,000 still outstanding on the basis of last year's givmg there is still a big cleanup job to be done. If all cards are completed the way they should be it is expected that the final grand total will exceed $220,000.
The campaign total to date includes $126,373.50 in regular giving and $31,691 for the emergency. The women's total has been boosted to $23,000, (including $1,000 extra for
effort 14
week the
the emergency) ^and last juniors raised $218.16.
After aU <raurds are completed it is expected that thit regular tbtal should reach $190;000 which wiU be only $3,000 less than last year. This drop results from a minimal number of decreases plus a few deceased or removed former contributors. With the emergency campaign total now over $32,000 it should at least reach $40,-000 before the drive is wound up.
The date of the closing campaign dinner has been set for Sunday, October 14.
