Many long active leaders of the Israel Bond drive and other community efforts in Vancouver are once again stepping to the fore in the. new campaign started this week. They are being joined by quite a few men who are stepping into a more active role in the Bond campaign for the first time this year. Among the new leaders are quite a few presidents and leadmg representatives of local Jewish organizations.
This show of support is most heartening and it is hoped that the total of over $250,000 raised in last year's bond campaign will be exceeded this year..
The women are also uhder-takmg a great effort in the new. s bond drive. (See other reports pages 1 and 5.)

At, a meeting at the home of Les Raphael^ the State of Israel Bond Drive opened with announcement of subscriptions totalling $50,000.
The meeting was addressed in an informal manner by. David Zeitani, Haganilah leader who arrived in North America early this week. A quiet, unassuming figure, Mr. Zeitani typifies the hidden strength of; the people of Israel.
Attended by 35 men, the meeting was first in a series that will Ije held ifi Vancouver. Organized on notice of only-three days the success of the meeting is a direct tribute to ihe awareness of Vancouver Jewry of the problems that now beset Israel.
Morris Jacobson, General Chair-niian of the Vancouver Drive said;
