Polish-Jewish leaders welcemed in Israel
TEL AVIV (W^A)—Ida Ka-minska, living spirit of the Jewish State Theatre in Warsaw, and Professor Ber Mark, Cliief of the Jewish Historical Institute of Warsaw, attended a reception in their honor tendered by" the Israel Branch of the XVlorld Jew|sh Congress Executive before returning to Poland.
The guests v/ere welcomed by Dr, A. Tartakower, Chairman, of the Israel Executive, M. Kerem, xnember of the Kniesseth and Rabbi Dr. M. Nurock.. In replying, Madame Kam-inska revealed that the Jewish State Theatre was planning to visit .Israel in the spring of 1958. They were returning greatly inspired and strengthened in their .conviction that the Jewish State Theatre was playing hot only for the small community of Poland, but for the whole Jewish world.
Prof. Ber Mark paid a warm tribute to the Congress mission which had visited Poland recently. Since the establishment of the State of Israel, even the ^assimilated Jew in. Poland had grown proud of his., association with the Jewish nation. He referred
:o anti-Jewish tendencies which had gained ground in Poland receiitly. This 4^yelopment had been accompanied by an obvious growth of sym-jathy for: Israel, so much so that the establishment of Kibutzim in Silesia wias now being seriously considered.
