JEWISH AGENCY BUDGET
JERUSALEM—A six-month interim budget of 1 l-9,200,0b0 pounds has been adopted by the Jewish Agency executive for the period of October 1, 1957, to March 31. 1958. Dr. Dov Joseph, Agency treasurer, called this a minimum budget which does not meet the realistic demands of the
regulations which, it is charged, jeopardize normal journalistic work. These regulations provide for advance announcements of intended visits by reporters to foreign ministry officials and special security officials to ac^ company reporters to and from interview sites.
Mrs. Golda Meir cabled the journalists askinjg them to comply with the hew regulations pending a review on her returu to Israel but^ hfer request was refused.

EVERYONE who was there had a grand time at the BB Yom Kippur dance at Schara'Tzedeck. ... Ben Stone and his band played the Samba so well that everyone could dance to it, even those who^ usually sit out the Latin numbers ... The food catered by Fred and Dora Ash was the greatest .. . ifut where 'Ivere^all the other people? We hear tell that riiany people were so 'convinced that the BB dance would be a sellout that they didn't even try to get reservations! The result is that while people were celebrating everywhere but at,the BB dance, the lodge is faced with a financial loss! . ,

A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT was
experienced by 40 BBC members and their fathers who learned last week that no immediate ^ction can be taken with regard to building a new Jewish Community Centre . . . Morris Saltz-man, president of the Community Council, and Dr. Jimmy White, past president, reported to the BBG meeting on the difficulties in obtaining the desired site in the vicinity of 41st Avenve and Oak Street. They stated that it could be a possible three to bur years more until a new centre is erected . . . Youth groups are particularly unhappy with the present situation because the Centre is now so overcrowded that all youth cliibs wishing to use Centre rooms, on Sundays have to stagger their meeting
lists' Association and Editor's Gtiild due to the failure of efforts to ease
times in order to be assured of ac-
coinmod^tion.
