SCHARA TZEDECK AUXILIARY wai not hold a general luncheon meeting^ this month. Members are preparing for the Annual Farmer's Marke taking place Wednesday, March 26, The Mother's Club is planning three booths consisting of candy, comic books and a fish pond for the amusement of the children.
PERETZ SCHOOL PTA is busy preparing for the Centennial Dance which will be held Saturday night, March 22, at the Talmud Torah. This affair will replace the annual bazaar held in March and the big ryaffle draw will take place during the evening . . . Mrs. Clara "Fox is convening the dance and her committee includes Bertha Arnold, Janfet Lexier, Edith Hestrin, Helen Dobbs and Doris Konn. Ben Stone's^ orchestra will provide dance music and there will be special entertainment. Refreshments this year will be extra special—turkey, knishes, and all the trimmings. Tickets at $1.50 each may be obtained from any Per-etz School member or by calling Clara Fox at DI. 7976.

their annual Moess Chittim Tea on Sunday, March 9, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Dashev-sky..'. Moess Chittim is a fund which provides matzos, wine and other Passover p^ouucts for our brethren in Israel and Europe who would not be able to observe the Passover holiday without these comforts . . . This project is worthy of the support of the community. Husbands will be made most welcome.

JERUSALEM—The young immigrant from Iraq who is charged 'with throwing a hand grenade into the Knesset last October and wounding five cabinet members went on trial this week. The defendent, Moshe Douek, is conducting his own defence. He pleaded not guilty.
8,000 JAPANESE TURN TO JUDAISM-
NEW YORK—Some 8,000 Japanese converts to Judaism in Japan- are reported to be bombarding the Israeli legation in Tokyo with requests for iomiigration visas, according to a report from Jerusalem. Jewish Agency officials are said to be studying the possibility of immigration of the Japanese Jews.
The converts are said to be organized in a group called the Union of Jewish Japanese. They speak only Hebrew among themselves, ■ circumcize their children and attend services in their own synagogues.

JERUSALEM—A treaty of friendship was signed in Manila this-week between Israel and the Philippines following a visit to that country by Pinchas Saphir, Israel's minister of trade and industry.

Knipp told a press conference that" **some of his best friends were Jews", that he would fight if another Hitler arose in Germany and that he was trading with Israel through the Reparations Pact. He denied, backing Hitler and claimed that slave labor had been forced upon his finn.
