PASSOVER SERVICE. SCHEDULE AT SCHARA TZEDECK
The traditionaL Siyum wljich marks the completion of study o' a' Tahnudic tractate will ytajce place at Schara Tzedeck Friday morning, April 4 (erev Pesach), at the conclusion of morning services which begin at 7:30 a.m.
This is of importance to first born sons or to fathers of youngsters who are first born sons. Traditionally, these categories (B'chorim) fast on, erev Pesach. Attendance, however, at a "Siyum" festive occasion ex empts them from fasting.

"chometz" should be burned and cleared out of the house (Biur Chometz) no later than 10:45 a.m. The traditional "Bedikas Chometz"—the search for leaven is .Thursday night, April 3, as soon as possible after nightfall.
Cantor Dov Propis will be assisted at the serf^ices this Passover by the newly organized 18-voice Choir which is under the Cantor's direction. They will chant the liturgical music at all services, evening' and morning. Passover evening service at Congregation Schara Tzedeck for the first Seder night, will,be ushered in Friday evening, April 4, at 6:20 p.m. Services on Saturday and Sunday mornings, April 5 and 6, at 8:45 a.m. Rabbi Goldenberg will officiate and preach the sermon." ^
The last days of Passover, the 7th and 8th days will occur on Friday and Saturday, April II and 12. Morning services will- take place at 8:45 a.m. on.April 11 and 8:30 k.m. on April 12. Evening services will take place at 6:30 p.m. on April 11 and 6:45 p.m. on April 12. Yiskor memorial services will be lleld Saturday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m.
Rabbi Goldenberg's .class in the Passover Haggadah series will meet Saturday, March 29, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the Seder ritual and will continue its study of the important textual paragraphs of the Passover Haggadah. There will also be a continuation of the discussion of Jewish law (Halacha) pertaining to Seder ritual.
SCHARA TZEDECK BREAKFAST CLUB
The last Prayer Service and meeting of the Schara Tzedeck >rayer and breakfast club will ake place Sunday, March 30. A special treat will be the Bar Mitz-vah birthday party, honoring hree recent Bar Mitzvahs: Joel Mtmaij, Mack Waldmah apd Melvin Davis.
Another treat will be' thg awarding oif'two cash prizes by Rabbi Goldenberg to those msiking the best showing in two discussions based on Passover themes; one dealing with the element of "Four" at, the Seder (four cups of wine, four questions, ^etc), the other dealing with the difference in the questions raised by the wise son and the wicked son which on the surface appear to be the same.
The $ 10.00 prize for the best discussion during the entire' year will also be announced.

Passover begins on the four teenth day of the month Nisan a sunsbt, this year corresponding to Friday, April 4. The festival is called Zman Chaniseinu, the season of our liberation. It com memorates the emancipation o our ancestors from Egyptian slavery and oppression.
Friday, April 4,-the eve of Pass over, is actually a day of fast for al Jewish first-born males. This fast is in recognition of the miraculous .sparing of all Jewish first-born males at the very night when the tenth plague I'Makath Bechoroth" "killed all the first born inales of thfe Egyptians.
However, one may. be exempted from the ^ast by attending a meal of religious rejoicing. Thjit is why the Bechorim" customarily attend a "siyum", the conclusion of the study of a tractate of the Talmud;, Th^ "siyum will take place at the Betjji Hamidrdsh on Friday,'^April 4, at 7 a.m. All the first born or the fathers of first born are invited to parScipate in the "siyum" which will reli^ase Ihem ifrom fasting. Eating of ariV leavened bread or food must cease Friday, April 4, at 9:45 a.m.

Labor agreement, for farm hands

collective rights of
farm workers was hailed by Morde-cai Namir, Israel's Minister of Labor, as the first of its kind in the world. The agreement was signed recently at the Ministry of Labor between the Farmers' Federation and the Agricultural Workers' Union affiliated with Histadrut. , The agreement applies to 50,000 hired farm workers.
The 39-cIause agreement provides that each farm will em^loysh. certain quotk of permanent workers according to its size and type of crop. Each farmhand employed for six months or more will become "permanent" and will be guaranteed 20 days work a monthj'd^uring off seasons. He will also enjoy all the social benefits of a permanent worker.
