Photos of the new Home by Krass Studio
THE LIVING ROOM of the new Home is large, yet the stone fireplace and arrangement of the soft-colored furniture combine to produce a cozy atmosphere. French doors to the left of this pirtuKe. open onto a patio looking out onto beautifully landscapid grounds and shady trees.

This is not the first[;jev^ish building in Vancouver which Abe Wosk has been instrumental in bringing into being..It can be said in fact, that Mr. Wpsk has probably had more to do v/ith the establishment of some, of Vancouver's traditional Jewish institutions and buildings than almost any other individual in tihe community. ;

He also purchased the property on Oak • Street where the present synagogue was built. \ ,
^ After giving up the presidency of^ the synagogue in 1945 Mr. Wosk became instrumental in the establishment of ths Jewish Men's Cultural Club. It was .through this, club that the -Jewish Home for the Aged was5ifirst established on 13th; Avenue in 1946, with Mr. Wosk as the first president.
The official opening of the original Jewish Home for the Aged in B.C. was a great event for the Jewish^ommunity of Vancouver. It was graced by the presence of famed comedian Eddie Cantor, who has alw;ays been well known for his support of Jewish philanthropic ^causes.
