JERUSALEM—Eleven letters, written by Simon Bar Kbchba, leader of the Jewish revolt against the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 132-135 A.D., have been found in a cave near the Dead Sea, is was announced recently.
The letters are considered one of the most iirfportant archaeological discoveries in recent years and one; of the most significant ever made in connection with the Bar Kochba revolt. The archives were found by one of the four teams operating under direction of Professor Yigael Yadin, in the Judean hills" near the Dead Sea where, tradition holds. Bap Kochba's bands made their final stand against the Romans.
ISRAEL TO SEND 30 ATHLETES TO ROME
ROME — About 30 Israeli athletes will compete in the Olympic Games here this summer, Robert Atlasz, technical director of the Israeli Olympic teams, announced here recently.
Mr. Atlasz said the Israeli teams will include three women and will participate in basketball, track, swimming, boxihg, weight-lifting and gymnastics.

A Master of Arts degree was awarded to Stanley Solomon Blank whose thesis was written on the subject of Child Psychology. His B.A. degree was also acquired at UBC while Mr, Blank was teaching mathematics to Grade VII and VIII students, teaching night school twice a week and taking private pupils in addition. While writing his M.A. thesis Mr. Blank was a student assistant at UBC. His future plans include studying for a doctorate in Educational Psychology in the United States. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Blank and is married to the former Eve Searle of Winnipeg.

JERUSALEMThe 1960/61 budget of the Mekorot Water Corporation (in which the Keren Hayesod holds a substantial block of shares) will aggregate a sum of IL. 50 million. This is the largest budget of the Corporation since its foundation.
