Pres. is official Congress delegate
Leslie A. Raphael, President of the Pacific Region of the Zionist Organization of Canada, will be a member of' the Canadian delegation of the Z.O.C. to the World Zionist Congress, which will open in Jerusalem on December 27.

Congress to Consider Diaspora Activities

A five-year
plan for Zionist activities in the Diaspora countries for the purpose of giving Jewish children in those countries a Jewish education, will be presented at the forthcoming 25th Zionist Congress.
In discussing this plan, Zvi Lourie, head of the organization department of the World Zionist Congress will have to engage in a serious ideological discussion regarding the tasks of the Zionist Movement in the planning of immigration and Hebrew education.
Mr. Lourie warned that many communities are neglecting the field of jewi:^ education and their very survival is thus threatened. Because of this, the Congress will have to discuss the question of whether the Zionist Movement should concern itself with the problems of Jews in Diaspora countries

A three-day World Conference of the Jewish National Fund, with the participation of some 100 delegates from 30 coimtries, will take place in Jerusalem on the eye of the Zionist Congress.

Mr. Jacob Tzur, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jewish National Fund, announced that the World Conference will be the first to be held since the new land development authority was established by the Israel government and the JNF, and will plan the work of the National Fund for the next four years.
