Graduations
Liron Natalie Ecdden graduated from Vancouver Talmud Toiuh high school and received a scholarship to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is the daughter of Dalia and Danny, and a sister to Gili and Sinead. Proud grandparents are Esther and Naflali Gol of Jerusalem and Hamia Redden of Vancouver.

Marc Joscphson, son of Ramona Joscphson Karasick and Ronald Joscphson, was the recipient of numerous awards and honors at the graduation ceremony for Prince of Wales high scliool June 13.
Marc was selected by his peers to be valedictorian for his graduating dass and was recognized by his teachers with the Most Outstanding Male Student Award, the Top Scholars Award for Academic Excellence and tibe Boy's Top Athletics Trophy Award. He also received an HSBC Scholarship Award.
During the ceremonies, Marc was honored for demonstrating outstanding skills in both academics and sports, for being a role model for his courage, commitment and empathy, and for dedicating coimtless hours as a peer coxmsellor despite his hectic schedule. For Marc's family, Uic words of recognition that linger most were tliose by his physical education teadier, Ben Lubinizky, who described Marc as a "mensch."
Marc received scholarships to Western and Queens universities, but will be attending McGill University in the fall, where he will join his sister, Jaclyn, in tlie faculty of commerce. He will spend his simi-mer as a camp counsellor at Camp Hatikvah.

Dani Rozen recently received the Steveston secondary school Grade 12 Top Academic Achievement Award and the Top Math Department Award. At the graduation ceremony, he will be honored as the class historian. This fall, he plans to attend UBC and will be tutoring in math and sdence. Proud parents are Cindy Rozen and Ron Rozen.

Carina Elise Pcrel-Panar, daughter of Dr. Avie. and Anita Pcrel-Panar and granddaughter of Henia and Jack Perel and FVances Panar has graduated with a bachelor of sdence degree in biopsychology from UBC. She attended UBC on a full scholarship after graduating from Point Grey mini school. She plans to continue her studies in a professional program.

The mother of Jacob Andrew Blumes is slowly recovering. Esther Lea Komfcld, upon learning that Jacob received 98 per cent on his Royal Conservatory of Music examination in preliminary rudiments (first class with distinction), had to lie dovm witli cold compresses. His fa-Uier, Dr. Joseph Blumes, was far more accepting of Jacob's major accomplishment and said, "It's a fluke!" Abby Wener, daughter of Judi and Carl Wen-er of Vancouver, has graduated from UBC witli a bachelor of arts degree in women's studies and English literature with first dass standing..
In September, she will begin a master's degree at UBC in feminist approaches to sodal justice in the department of educational studies.
