Sabbath services at Schara Tzedeck this Saturday, August 24 will be marked by the Bar-Mitzvah of Morris Altman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Altman. The Bar-Mitzvah celebrant, a graduate of the Vancouver Talmud Torah, will chant the Haf-torah as well as conduct a major part of the service proper.
William Schloss, president of the Congregation, will present the certificate to the Bar-Mitzvah guest of honor, whose father, Hyman Altman, has served in the past on the executive of the Congregation, and who has also been active in many of the community's institutions and causes. Rabbi Goldenberg will officiate and preach the Sermon, and Cantor Abraham Deutsch will chant the service.
