A STATEMENT FROivt THE
OF THE
Joint Coitimunity R@!ofEons CommEftee
A leiier has been sent out to the community by the United Jewish People's Order urging Jews as individuals to send messages to the Minister of Justice and to, Mr. David Orlikow on the matter of legislation ao-ainst hate propaganda. There are forms at the bottom of; the letter which may be filled in and sent as messages^
We would advise our citizens against fillJrg in these forms which are easily identified with a particular organization, and urge rather that messages be sent on ordinary paper or letterheads. Canadian Jewish. Congress has brought the matter* of hate literature to the government on the highest level and earnest consideration is now being given io the problem.
We believe that our case would be strengthened by the expressioris of opinion of citizens of this country and suggest that messages be seni io the Minister of Justice, and aiso to the sitting member of the constituency in whTch the individual sending the message resides. For the convenience of the reader a list of members of parliament is printed beiow.
