Schara Tzedeck Religious school begins its 1964-65 school term this coming Sunday, Sept. 13, when all classes will be in session. Grades 1, 3, 5 And 6 meet from 9.15 a.m. to 11 a.m. and grades i2 and 4 meet from 11.15 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Schara Tzedeck Religious school curriculum is built around the following subject areas: Hebrew reading and writing, language, Bible studies, Israel, history, customs and ceremonies, and current events, arts and crafts, dramatics and dancing are all an integral part and aid in the learning process. Permeating the curriculum is the desire to build intelligent and loyal Jews by inculcatine in the child favorable attitudes and apnroaches for positive Jewish living. There are also special training courses preparing boys for Bar-Mitzvah and girls for the Bas-Torah ceremonies.
There are now six classes onerating at Schara Tzedeck in addition to one Kindergarten group, as well as a Junior High school department known as **Medrasha", for students of post Bar-Mitzvah age, which last term had two separate classes. Registration for the Kindergarten group, which meets only on Sundays, is limited to children in the 5-^ age group. However, children above the age of 6 may also register for the first grade, which meets three times a week.
For the New Year the Schara Tzedeck Rel.'gious school, which will be under the simer-vision of Rabbi Marvin Hier. will have a newly staffed teaching faculty, all experienced teachers and graduates of recognized, schools. The following personnel will be in charge of teaching, program: Mrs. M.Hier, Miss F.Ben Ron. Miss Ruth Erlich and L. Toft (who has just arrived from Winnipeg).
