Vm OF ISHAEL TO SmATMARCOPOLO
Internationally known as the Voice of Israel, Esther Tohbi, makes her first Vancouver appearance April 19, for two weeks, at Marco Polo theatre-restaurant. With her on the same bill is an American-bom Japanese comedian who speaks five languages—^with the ex-cation of Japanese. He is 33-year-old Pat Morita, of North Hollywood, Calif.
Miss Tohbi, who herself speaks eight languages, broke into UJ5. show business in 1961 when she was 24. She was spotted in one of Israel's top night spots and was Immediately signed for an extended engagement to New York. After starring in a number of stage roles, she turned to night club work. She has played major U.S. night spots from New York to San Ftancisco with outstanding success.
Comedian Morita is known in San Francisco as the "Hip Nip". His patter pokes fun at his own country and his ancestors. And it has earned him

LET'S PLAY SEDER — Cover stars this Passover, who are playing Seder, are the Winberg boys, one, two and three. David, almost eight, plays the Abba (father), saying, "Behold this matza!" Harold, five-years-old, has just finished blessing the paper candles. He is the Ima <mother) with a "towel scarf to make the blessing proper. Type-cast as the baby is Morris, who is three-going-on-four, waiting patiently to eat the matzo that his '^Abba" will now distribute. Their conventional abba and ima are Sid and Emily Winberg.
Idea for the happy Pesach cover came last Sunday morning when the Editor of The Bulletin came Upon his own three enterprising sons, in the midst of performing their own Seder, seated at a custom-made Seder table which they had created. Shown above with backs to the camera, the Kaplan boys supervise photographer Franz Lindner as he works to produce the front cover for this week.
On the play Seder table are all the traditional Passover symbols, in foil pan settings. Gay matzo cover, decorated place mats, paper candles complete with flames and a paint-bespeckled old bedspread as tablecloth, complete the make-believe. Matzo from the cupboard and grape juice from the refrigerator are the real thing, as are the Haggadot and the Seder service, which the boys performed.
