TUNIS Habib Bourguiba, peaking to an Egyptian journ-list at a,recent press confer-nce, asked the reporter facet-usly. "If Abdel Nasser is so onfident of his military pow-r, why does he not attack srael?" The Tunisian Presi-ent added: "Nasser is fully ^are that every Arab adven-re against Israel will end in tter defeat. This is the reason hy Nasser attacks Israel verb-lly, instead of with tanks, nd such an 'attack' will never ush Israel into the sea'."

noting that four Israelis had also been injured the previous week when Jordanians blew up two houses at Har Sharon near Jordan's border.
Israeli police charged that Monday's firing came from Jordanian positions on the old city wall. Forty minutes before the incident occurred, Jordanian authorities had complained to the United Nations that Israelis opened fire in Jerusalem with light machine guns. This was denied by an Israeli army spokesman who stated the complaint was lodged "merely to serve as a pretext for the unprovoked attack."
The same evening in Cairo, President Nasser of Egypt told a meeting of Palestine Arabs that the Arabs, not Israel, must choose the time, date and place for an attack on Israel.
The Egyptian Dictator stated that the Arabs might even be forced to postpone their Jordan River diversion project until they were capable of defending it from Israeli attack.'

Meanwhile tension ran high in the divided city of Jerusalem this week after the shooting incident.
According to statements from Paris, made in circles of the French Foreign Ministry, the Middle East will not be set aflame as a result of the Arab plans to divert the headr waters of the Jordan River, but as a result of,the renewed sabotage raids by fedayeen gangs on Israeli territory. These bands, which are concentrated in Gaza, Jordan, Syria and Iraq, have proceeded to carry out their murderous acts on Israel's territory. On Wednesday, June 9, the Jewish Community Centre will once again be the scene of lively activity and interesting entertainment for many of Vancouver's women. It will be Hadassah Day.
Last year's Hadassah Day, with the theme — Israel, Land of the Bible, was so well attended, received and enjoyed that plans were immediately implemented to enlarge and improve on this theme. Mrs. M. J. Waterman, president of Vancouver Hadassah Council, announces that once again, under the able guidance of Miss Vera Chechik and Mrs. Sidney Kaplan, months of planning and dedicated effort have gone into making Hadas^ sah Day 1965 an even more memorable event.
Wednesday morning briefing sessions are restricted to executives and portfolio chairmen of Hadassah chapters — and there will be much to interest each position. All members and every woman of the community are invited to join Vancouver Hadassah Council for brunch at 12 noon, to be followed by a viewing of exciting displays created by chapters, and fascinating capsule program previews. Mrs, C. Eisenstat, president Canadian Hadassah, will address the group immediately following brunch.
