(*ehtennial Year was ushered ill on Monday, Jan. 9, with an expression of inter-faith understanding and brotherhood never before seen in the annals of local history. A capacity audience of over 400 witnessed the historic Goodwill Dinner co-sponsored by Lion's Gate lodge B'nai B'rith, Knights of Columbus and Vancouver Chinatpwn Lions club.
Mayor Tom Campbell brought greetings from the City as well as officially proclaiming the week of Feb.. 19-26 as Brotherhood Week in Vancouver.
Arthur Laing, Minister of Northern Affairs, stated that this event could be the start of something big in the City.
Headtable guests included: Howard Green, former External Affairs Miinister; Chi Ping Peng, Chinese Consul-General; AI Ritz, B.C. State Deputy, Knights of Columbus; Dr. Bruno Marini, Vancouver District Deputy, K. of C; Mayor Tom Campbell; Bishop J. F. Carney; Ray Perrault, MLA; George D. Wong, past director, Lion's International; Charles H. Lee, president, Vancouver Chinatown Lions; Arthur. Laing, Minis-er of Northern Affairs; Rabbi
Wilfred Solomon; Alex Bodrogi. chairman; Fred Gottfried, president. Lion's Gate lodge; Morris Kraus, District Grand lodge No, 4 president; Alex Jackson, president-elect. District No. 4; Mr. Justice Angelo Branca of the Coiut of Appeal; Mr. Justice Nathan Nemetz of the Supreme Court.
Maurice Miner, a member of Lion's Gate lodge, was presented, with a 25 year membership certificate by Morrie Kraus, Grand lodge president, who noted that such an experience as the Dinner was well worth his trip to Vancouver.
Alec Jackson, Dr. Bruno Marini and George D. Wong spoke briefly on the objects, aims and work done by the various organizations participating in this joint goodwill undertaking.
Ray Perrault unveiled a monument jointly purchased by the three organizations to perpetuate the significance of the evening.
The Vancouver Jewish Community Centre Choir, under direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Wolak, p e r formed. Proceedings were chaired by Alex Bodrogi. M.N.

Regular sunset kabbalat Shabbat services at Scheura Tzedeck on Friday, Jan. 20, will begin at 4:32 p.m. Candle-lighting time is 4:30 p.m. Regular class in Bible and Commentaries meets at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Rabbi Marvin Hier will officiate at services, and Cantor A. Deutsch will chant the liturgical music, and Rev. W. Shuster will read the Torah.

MOSHE SHAMIR, one of Israel's leading novelists and playwrights, will address Jewish groups In the U.S. and Canada this spring as the B'nai B'rith 1967 Visiting Lecturer.
