Gary Lowy will be SJ. Bar-tAitzvah
Sabbath morning services at Congregation Schara Tzedeck this coming Saturday, Aug. 12, will be marked by the Bar-Mitzvah of - Gary Irving, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lowy. The Bar-Mitzvah celebrant, a student of Schara Tzedeck Religious School, will chant the Haftorah and appropriate blessings.
Rabbi Marvin Hier will officiate and preach the sermon, and Rev. Wm. Shuster will conduct the service and read the Torah.
Services begin at 9 a.m. Joseph Youngson, principal of Schara Tzedeck Religious School, will present the Bar-Mitzvah certificate.
Regular sunset kabbalat Shab-bat services on Friday evening commence at 8:20 p.m. Candle-lighting time is 8:16 p.m. Regular class in Bible and Commentaries will meet at 7:50 p.m. in the chapel

Sabbath services at Schara Tzedeck synago-gue on Saturday, Aug. 19. will mark the Bar-Mitzvah of Richard Henry Crane, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Crane. The Bar-Mitzvah celebrant, a student of Schara Tzedeck Religious School, will participate in the Saturday evening service and will chant the Havdalah. The service will begin at 8:25 p.m.

At the last meeting of the Vancouver B'nai B'rith Youth Organizations Council, Jack Sparton, past president, Lion's Gate lodge, was elected president of the Council.
Also elected to serve were Mrs. H. Carr, past president, B.B.W. Vancouver Pacific chapter 763, as first vice-president; recording secretary, Mrs. V. DeWitt, past president, Vancouver Pacific chapter 763; treasurer, Mrs. Adele Moss, B.B.W. Centennial chapter 1022; and corresponding secretary. Jack Huberm'an, advisor. Totems AZA 646.
Mr. Sparton appointed Lennie Lif chus, president. Sir Winston, CHiurchill Memorial Chapter AZA and Mrs, Jack Sparton, PP, as Dublicity chairmen for the coming year.

Two thousand and five hundred wounded soldiers need help. The men, women and children who use the facilities at the Marine hospital at Eilat; the polio, cerebral palsy and geriatric facilities at Sarafand; the blood bank facilities which service all of Israel; and the first aid stations at Arad and Kfar Saba; they also need the Community's help.

At the recent 45th Annual B'nai B'rith Women District 4 Convention held in Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Maurice Lifchus, past District 4 B.B.W. president, was given a distinct honor as first Canadian woman to be elected to serve as president of this District.
