UPCOMING AT CENTRE NOV. 5

Everyone interested in this problem is invited to attend this conference which begins at 10 a.m.
The idea of the conference was originally proposed some months ago when representatives of the Zionist Organization, Beth Israel synagogue, B'nai B'rith and Hil-lel Foundation met to discuss the myriad of problems facing their respective organizations, and others which are involved in youth programs.
It was felt that the issues raised could not be adequately

dealt with except at a conference where an outside expert could be present and where more time would be available. Since then a committee composed of Rabbis M. Hier, J. Sherwood, W. Solomon and Lou Zimmerman have met a number of times to plan conference direction and content. Centre staff has been involved in arranging the details.
Guest consultant will be Ted Kanner, director of the Western States Region, National Jewish Welfare Board. Prior to assuming his present post he was executive director of the Jewish Centre of Phoenix.
A feature of the conference will be a panel of representatives of youth organizations who will consider the question, "What expectations do we have of ourselves and of the parent organizations?"
Format of the conference will be that of presentations followed by small group discussions so that each person present will have an opportunity to participate actively in the proceedings. There is no registration fee, but there will be a nominal charge for the conference luncheon.
