MUSIC is a vital and important part of the program at Camp Miriam. Scenes like this kre frequent and popular with campers who are encouraiged to bring: to camp any musical instrument they play. Through drama, songr and dance, individual expression is developed and an appreciation of the world we live in is extended. Participation in folk dancing and singing', modem, creative and Israeli, enables campers to conquer self-consciousness and at the same time to develop co-ordination and creativity. Hebrew^ Canadian and American folk songs, camp songs, plays and impromptu singsongs^—all contribute to the pleasure of this activity. Camp Miriam's musical program is conducted by some of Vancouver's finest folk dancers and singers.

ONEG SHABBAT—A highlight at Camp Miriam is the Oneg Shah-bat on Friday evening miii a luxurious Shabbat meal and program combining creative dramatics with traditional aspects of the celebration of the Sabbath. Campers are encouraged to attend services on Saturday. Through discussions, readings and writings on subjects of Jewish history, life in Hsrael and special programs devoted to commemorating Jewish holidays and historical events, the doors of the past are opened to a better understanding of our ricA Jewish heritage. Through an organized cultural program our Youth willingly learns to appredale their Jewisdi responsibility.
