40 YOUNG AMERICANS TAKE HIGHSCHOOLING IN ISRAEL
NEW YORK—Forty American students have left to study at the MoUie Goodman Academic High School, near Ashkelon, first academic High School for American students in Israel.
Upon their arrival at the schoo established and maintained by th^ Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), the students will follow a complete course of study conforming with the curricula of U.S. high scho&ls in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades, Jacques Tor-czyner, President of the Zionist Organization of America, announced.
Now in its second year, the number of students attending the 1968-69 academic year is full registration with many more students turned away because of lack of dormitory space. Only the top students were accepted.
Dr. Harold Korey, former assistant superintendent of schools in Chicago, 111., is principal of the Mollie Goodman Academic High School which has a faculty of highly qualified professional English speaking teachers. "The American students, upon completion of the course, will be fully prepared in terms of pre-college education and learning experience, said Mr. Torczyner.
In their general studies, students in the 9th grade will take English, Algebra, World History and General Science; the 10th graders, English, Geometry, Modern History and Biology; while the 11th graders will study English, U.S. History, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry and Chemistry. Besides Hebrew, other languages taught at the school are French, Spanish and Latin.
The Mollie . Goodman School shares the spacious modem campus with the famous ZOA Agricultural High School, Kfar Silver, near Ashkelon. The two schools comprise a unique ZOA American centre for pre-college education in Israel.
The students will receive special courses in Hebrew. They will ational facilities available on the ZOA campus.

U.S. Yeshiva opens branch in Israel
NEW YORK—A group of 95 individuals have opened Israel's first American Style Yeshiva (Rabbinical college), it was an-nouncted by the Israel Aliyah Centre. The 95 perscois include faculty members, students and their families.
The Rabbinical Seminary of America (Chofetz Chaim Yeshiva), one of the oldest rabbinical training schools in the U.S., will build its campus in East Jerusalem with the help of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem and the Israel Government. Until the building program is completed, the Yeshiva will be located in temporary quarters in the San-hedria section of Jerusalem.
The institution, ^^ lich is headed by Rabbi A. Henach Lebowitz, American born son of the founder. Rabbi David Lebowitz, will henceforth require all of its students to spend at least one year of study in Israel.
Two years ago. Rabbi Lebowitz conducted a one year program study in Jerusalem for 40 of his students. The success of the undertaking and the demand for its continuation led to the
Yeshiva's decision to establish
a permanent branch in Israel.
The students will continue their studies under tutelage of members of the Yeshiva's staff in New York City who will accompany them.
