WEDNESDAY EVENING, March 19, will highUght the Yeshiva Uni-versity Award Dinner to honor the .Hon. Mr. Justice Angelo Branca. Sold out for more than two weeks, prestigious affair will be attended by leaders of Goveniment, the Judiciary and the academic community. Presented to merit-worthy individuals who have made a significant contribution to society over a period of years, the award is officially granted under auspices of Yeshiva University, oldest and largest university under Jewish auspices. Previous award recipients include former B.C. lieut. Gov. G. R. Pearkes, V.C. (1968), Nelson Rockefeller, Adlal Stevenson, Ralph Bunche, Dr. Selman Waksman, discoverer of streptomycin, and former Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. Guest speaker will be Hon. Sam Yorty, mayor of Los Angeles. Rabbi. Milton Furst, assistant to the dean of Yeshiva U., will confer the award. Co-chairmen of the dinner are Jack Diamond and Ben Wosk. Dinner chairman is Arthur Fouks, Q.C.

In 1959 he became Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Beth El in Minneapolis, where he served for 35 years, and .since that time he has been professor of rabbinics at the graduate school. University of Judaism in Los Angeles. He is the author of several books and many articles on Judaism.
The Simchat Shabbat weekend will be entitled, "Quest and Encounter", and will be developed around the theme, "How can Judaism meet the challenge of the modern world". Rabbi Aaron-son's sermon Friday night will be entitled, "Encounter with revolutions of today". Shabbat morning; following the 10 a.m. Torah reading, he will speak on "Encounter with the new mor-aUty".
Following the Kiddush at 11 a.m., those who are registered for the Simchat Shabbat will gather for a discussion of the first two presentations. This will be followed by a luncheon session at which the major address will be given, "Encounter with Alternatives of the Future".
Registration is open to adults and teenagers. The public is being invited to attend all the religious services.
Adult education chairman is Dr. A. Hayes, and convener for the Simchat Shabbat luncheon is Mrs. A. Hayes.

Regular meeting of Hadassah was held March 4 when plans were finalized for Youth Aliyah Social. A detailed report was given on the Israeli Fashion Show scheduled Monday, April 14. Tickets were distributed. Next meeting will be held Monday, April 7,
due to Passover.

Chairman of the Youth Aliyah drive, Becky Shafron introduced guest speaker, Leo Marcus, who brought the assembly up-to-date on the Middle East situation as
it is today. Following his address, a questioned answer period was held. After refreshments members enjoyed a game of cards.
