Following the wedding dinner which celebrated the marriage of Renee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Mann and Michael Ron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ron of Hyattsville, Maryland (formerly of Haifa, Israel), a beautiful tradition was observed. Rabbi Wilfred Solomon chanted the Sheva Brachot and the ancient custom was observed of the mingling of wine from the glasses of the bride and groom.
The traditional wedding took place at Beth Israel synagogue last December 22 with Habbi Solomon and Cantor Murray Nixon officiating at the double ring ceremony. Preceding the ceremony. Cantor Nixon blessed and kindled the candles of the large candelabra for the last day of Chanuka..
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was ushered into the sanctuary to the singing of Baruch Habah by Beth Israel Choir. Radiant in a pure silk gown which she designed, re-embroidered with soutache, the bride chose a dramatic graceful train trimmed with the same imported matching lace as her gown. Her silk illusion veil was encircled with pink and white flowers and she carried a bouquet of pink and white rosebuds, stephanotis and streaming satin ribbons tied in lover's knots. .
Seven attendants formed the bridal entourage. Wearing gowns of royal purple moire, their heart shaped bouquets w^ere entwined with pink sweetheart roses and silk illusion net with trailing satin ribbonettes. Miniature matching rosebuds were entwined in their hair-dos, which completed their ensembles.
Mrs. Barry Demsky, sister of he bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ruth Ron and Ada Ron, sisters of the groom, Sandra Karmel and Lorraine Karmel, Belinda Slobin and
Charlene Goldstein, all cbusins of the bride.
Ushers included Gerry Goldstein and Barry Demsky. Abe Amar was best man.
Mrs. Richard Ron, the groom's mother, wore a delicate shade of pink mauve silk fashioned in a line design. Crystal beading trim was used on the Mandarin collar and a matching headpiece complemented her imported gown. Her Cattleya orchid was entone.
Mrs. Al Mann, the bride's mother, chose a gown of lavender satin peau de sole encrusted with shades of beading to match. A small jewelled feather headpiece was entone and she wore a lavender Cattleya orchid to match.
A dinner and dance followed the ceremony. The brdie's uncle, Jonah Karmel, was master of ceremonies. Cantor Murray Nixon intoned the Birkat Hama-zon after dinner and the Sheva Brachot cereniony was performed by Rabbi Wilfred Solomon.
Toast to the bride was delivered by the bride's uncle, Gordon Slobin, while the bride's grandfather, Jack Slobin, blessed the newljnveds.
Guests' tables were bedecked with duo-toned twisted candles of royal purple to complement
the decor, all made by the bride's aunt, Mrs. J. Karmel.
For travelling, the bride chose a matching ensemble of French coffee tone wool and Norwegian silver fox fur.
The young couple holidayed at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada and in San Francisco. They have taken up residence in Vancouver.
Out-of-town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ron, Ruth and Ada, of Hyattsville, Maryland; Mr. and Mrs. Barry Demsky of Brooklyn, New York; Mrs. W. Sturman, Everett, Wash.; Dr. and Mrs. Melvin Sturman^ Seattle, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Lou Ziger and Robert, from Montreal, Que.
