B'nai B*rith Women have been commended on the international scene for their work with Arab-. Jewish "teach-ins". From the national committee for children and youth bulletin, it is reported that Um-Al-Fahm, an Arab village of 1,400 people, has been chosen as one of five or six experimental villages to launch a new project sponsored by B'nai B'rith Women. ^
Joint Arab - Jewish teaching teams have been -recruited under the project, by the Hebrew University, to conduct programs of education and social services in Arab villages and cities. The "teach-in" program, which grew out of Arab-Jewish student discussions instituted by University Hillel director. Rabbi Jack Cohen, was approved by the B.B.W. .triennial convention in March 1968.
Local officials expressed the hope and anticipation that while B.B.W. are in session, new ideas on programming will also be developed.
