Canaiian Friends office fire damaged
MONTREAL—Fire has severely damaged the headquarters of Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University located at 1506 McGregor Ave. in Montreal. The quick blaze, which occurred during a working day last week, destroyed the roof and top floor of Lauterman House necessitating complete evacuation of the premises.
Canadian Friends have now set up temporary quarters elsewhere pending renovation of the building, but correspondence should still be addressed to 1506 McGregor Ave.
Some of the records, archives and files of the organization were smoke and water damaged and are now being restored by the Friends' staff. .
