cussed, inter alia, the possibil^ of a regional water project using atomic energy which could supply the entire area with sufficient water and make it fertile.
LAST POINT of the excursion was the Ashkelon Beach. The participants agreed that it would be desirable to continue such tours and retain contact between the Hebrew University and the population of Hebron. The gdult education centre, for its part, will now try to arrange a meeting in Jerusalem between the Hebron group and some of the several himdred students, both Arabs and Jews, who are studying each other's language at the Ecce Home Convent on Via Dolorosa, in the Old City of Jerusalem, imder auspices of the Centre.
According to Mr. Yaron, several hundred Hebronites have learned Hebrew at the ulpan (intensive Hebrew language' course) which was initiated in Hebron by the adult education centre and has since continued under direction of the city's language school. Some of the first students, who include several Hebron personalities, among them religious leaders, have remained in active contact with the adult education centre. The Arab-Jewish ^cultural project is sponsored by the Yad Avi llayeshuv (Bothschild Foundation).

now I've come to find out whether I can implement all that I received in my parental home in my childhood. I'm a college graduate, but I still have no responsibilities. True, there is no overt anti-Semitism in the U.S., but Jews are not desirable in American society."
PAUL GOODIN comes from Canada. He regards himself as neither a Jew nor a <3anadian •— ; simply as a himian being. He has come to Israel for a year because j no other country in the world of-' fers young people like himself jsuch an attractive program. His 'year's stay in Israel will, in all likelihood, extricate him from his unconcern for his people.
DON BROOKS, one of the
students at the Ulpan, is a non-Jew from Colorado. He first learnt about the land of the Bible in the home of his Protes-. tant parents, and he is hopeful that he will learn new values in Israel.
"It's not more dangerous here than in Colorado", he volunteered. "There are Katyusha shells here, and motor cars in Colorado."
