Can Rabbi Bar
TEL AVIV — Whoever misses Rabbi Simon Bar Yochai^ Hebrew sage who died.in the second century and is buried in i place of honor at Myron, in the Galilee. . Whoever wants to phone the grave and ask the Rabbi's intercession for speedy recovery of a dear one.
The ministry of communications has taken care of these would-be communicators by installing a special phone line which puts calls through directly to the grave.
The hew phone, whose installation has not been widely advertised, keeps the local official of the ministry for religious affairs very busy. This man is asked, from time to time, to put a given believer's name oii a piece of paper to be slipped into Rabbi Bar Yochai's grave with a request for good health or successful business.
Most popular wishes are that children be provided for through good, sound marriages — or for. happiness and prosperity in life. And it only costs a couple of pennies — strictly a token sum!

Both the Men's and Women's 1972 Youth Aliya drives were launched by a luncheon on Jan. 19 at the Hotel Vancouver.
The address by Mrs. Leo Hirsh of Los Angeles on disadvantaged children in Israel and the needs that must be met by Youth Aliya, brou^t home to the large assembly the enormous responsibility all Jews have to the needy youth in Israel, officials stated.
Mrs. David Zack, chairman, women's division, and Mrs. Nathan Slutsky, chairman, men's division, report that the campaign is off to an excellent start, with every indication that this year's extra committnient to build needed daycare centres will be met.
Special contributions of Ima, scholarships and bursaries are already greater than ever before, they stated.'
Nevertheless, officials stated, Youth Aliya needs increased donations to cope with the responsibilities which are growing daily - especially with the arrival of more and miore Jews coming to Israel from Russia.
Hundreds of telephone calls are being made by the drive chairmen during the campaign to obtain
pledges. Anyone who has not been contacted — if they've been busy or away from home - is being asked to please call Youth Aliya chairman and pledge to help Israel's children.
