. P.W. Halprinj a board member of the Jewish Family Service Agency and a Federal Drug Prosecutor, was recently appointed as chairman of a JFSA programi on drugs.
This program, "The Trauma of Arrest," set for Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Centre, will not deal with the philosophy of what the law should be nor will it deal with the medical arguments or give an unrealistic "soother".
Mr. Halprin's main objective, officials stated, is for those attending to realize exactly what occurs today when someone is, arrested on a drug charge. The panel is taking the position that too many drug programs have a gimmick to attract attendance and put up a 'somoke screen' over the problem. -
Mr. Halprin, emphasizing that the gimmick of the panel is that there is no gimmick, added that the panelists continuously deal Vyith drug trials and sentences and will tell'how it really is'.
Members of the panel are: Mr. Halprin; Martin Zlotnick, defense lawyer; Mrs. Nat Bent, probation officer; and Abe Hering, youth worker.
