Registration for Brownie, Guide, Cub and Scout programs at the Centre, the only Jewish sponsored Scout and Guide program in B.C., will be held this Tuesday, Sept. 18, 6:30 p.m., at the Centre.
At this time definite program times will be specified. All programs are open to Centre members.
The Brownie program, designed by Girl Guides of Canada, introduces girls aged 7 to 10 to a wide-variety of individual and group activities, outdoor adventure community service and homemaking skills. Two groups this year will offer activity, challenge and new friendships.
The Guide program into which Brownies graduate is open to girls aged 10 to 14. The Guides are involved in a more advanced program in the Scouting tradition, including camping, hiking, first-aid and nature crafts. Guides is now in its fourth year at the Centre and has had a sound background of fun-filled and stimulating programs.
For boys aged 8 to 10 years there is Cubs, especially designed and outlined for boys this age by Boy Scouts of Canada. Cubs helps the boys develop self-reliance, group responsibility and good citizenship.
Scouts is the next step, for boys aged 11 to 14. A Cub background is helpful but not essential. This program offers boys practice in advanced outdoor skills, in fellowship and community responsibility.

Israel to begin 'Everymon's Univ.'
JERUSALEM — The Cabinet approved recently the establishment of an "Everyman's University" within the framework of a pilot project administered and financed by the Rothschild Foundation.
The university will function through television programs, correspondence courses and classroom teaching.
Its main purpose will be to enable adults to earn academic degrees.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Education Yigal Allon told reporters that the resolution to establish the "Everyman's University" has a great educational and social importance.
He stressed the government's thanks to the Rothschild family.
All programs follow Scout and Guide traditions, as well as the aims of the Centre, in attempting to serve the child, the family and the community. These goals can be accomplished through active parent involvement and strong volunteer leadership, with the liaison and support of Centre staff.
Persons able to volunteer their services who have Scouting, Guide, related experience or can spare one or two evenings a week may contact Gayle Myers, at the Centre, 266-9111. She also had further information on the Centre Scouting and Guide programs.
