TEL AVIV - If the Jewish nation seeks any cultural, moral or national mission, this can be done only through the return to EretzJsrael.
This was stated by President Ephraim Katzir speaking at the closing session of the jubilee convention of the Labor Zionist Movement at Beth Berl.
The President said that Israel is becoming more and more the national cultural centre of the Jewish nation, "and I am convinced that ultimately the Jewish true national creativity would emei^e from Israel. Jewish creativity
would be possible only when the Jewish nation will be in its homeland."

THE SNAKE HUNTER
The heroes of the drama wer a young zoologist from Austria, a poisonous snake from Jordan, and a number of Jordanian and Israeli doctors who fought, watch in hand, for the life of the young Austrian.
A few months ago, he arrived in the deserts of Turkey. He looked for and found special kinds of snakes which do not exist in Eur(H)e. But one of his "loves" gave him a "kiss" of death, and only after great efforts did they succeed in saving his life.
But one "kiss" did not suffic for our Austrian. After his re covery, he went to Jordan t look for poisonous snakes in th Judaean desert. Here, too, h met with success. He came upo snakes and tried to "milk" on of them, but the snake succeede in biting him.
Again the young man was i danger of death. This time th danger was very real becaus Jordan had no serum against snak poison.
What could be done? Israe was indeed nearby and it ha the serum, as well as a worl famous specialist in the treatmen of snake bites. But the borde stood between salvation and th patient.
The doctors turned to the Unite Nations personnel and requested "Help us open the Gate in orde to save a human life. Quickly for every moment may be th last." The United Nations peopl acted speedily, but the Jordania border guards were not ac customed to work at night. An (neanwhile time was passing an the poison was beginning to tak effect. Finally day dawned. Th young scholar reached the border The Gate opened, an Israeli ambu lance was waiting for him an took him quickly to a helicopter Within a few minutes, the danger ously ill patient, was at the Bei linson Hospital in Petah Tikvah His life was saved, and restore to him as a gift.
Will he come back and hun for snakes for the third time
