There topics and many more will be covered at the Jewish Experiental Workshop to be held by members of Temple Sholom after services on Friday, Nov.
16, and all day on Saturday, Nov.

The workshop will use new Imethods of group discussion to lexplore participant's attitudes as Reform Jews. This is not an encounter group, nor a therapy session, but an original way of {defining one's identity as a Jew [among Jews, officials said. The Saturday session will be eld at the home of Mr, and rs. T. Heninger, 6176 Alma oad, and will be followed in the vening with a supper at the home f Mr. and Mrs. N. Goldman, 5029 Olympic Avenue.

TEL AVIV Chief Rabbinate ere are conducting weddings ilround-the-clock to accommodate ouples who had to postpone cere-itionies because of war.
Members of Canadian Legion Shalom branch #178 will participate in the Sabbath service and a prayer will be offered in tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice for their country and for freedom.
Rabbi Wilfred Solomon and Hazzan Murray Nixon will officiate, assisted by the B.I. Choir under the direction of Sol Pel-man.
, The Oneg Shabbat following the service will be co-hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Ben Berger and the Canadian Legion members.
During the Sabbath service, tomorrow, Saturday Nov. 10, 9:15 a.m., David, son of Dr. and Mrs. Ben Berger, will be called to the Torah as a Bar-Mitzvah. Rabbi Solomon and Hazzan Nixon will officiate, assisted by the B.I. Choir. David Rubin, will read the Torah.
Talit and Tefilin club will meet with Hazzan Nixon this Sunday, Nov. 11, 9 a.m. in the B.I. Mid^ rash. Breakfast will be served, following the service.
El Am Talmud will meet with Rabbi Solomon on Sunday, 10 a.m.
SEPHARDIC SERVICES SET
The Sephardic Congregation will hold regular Shabbat morning services tomorrow Saturday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., at Beth Hamidrash synagogue, 3231 Heather St.
GOLDlNm PIAN SATURDAY SOCIALS
Golden Age club will hold the first of its Saturday night socials on Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m., in the Centre, room 100. Highlighted will be dancing, singing, cards.
Entertainment, movies, bingo, etc. are featured at regular club meetings, held Mondays, 1 p.m. at the Centre.v A brief exercise program that day, conducted by Phyllis Coleman, is planned so that all can participate, officials said.
All persons enjoying singing are being welcomed to attend rehearsals for the club's new musical, "Fanny Flanders," under direction of Barbara Minuk. Rehearsals are held Mondays, 11 a.m. at the Centre.
A small group woodcarves under direction of S. Sarkin on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m., at the JCC.

On Wednesdays, club members "Paint for Fun" at 9:30 a.m. proceeding to cookery of foreign countries with Mrs. H, Rubens, followed by an hour of exercises and yoga and lunch together. English — at any level — classes start at 2 p.m.
On Thursdays, Mrs. Thelma Kennedy teaches arts-and-crafts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sewing instruction by Faye Goldman is from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

A lecture and discussion series delving into contemporary approaches to God, Torah, Ethics and Israel will be offered to all interested community women commencing Thursday Nov. 15, 10 - 11:30 a.m. av Seth Israel synagogue. The program is presented as part of B.I. Sisterhood's Institute Aleph.
The course, "A Chain of Tradition," will be given by Mrs. Wilfred Solomon, wife of Beth Israel's spiritual leader. Mrs. Solomon teaches at Talmud Torah and the Jewish Community High School.
Terming the course, "a must for every thinking Jewish woman," officials stated that the program would discuss questions, such as the following posed by Martin Buber, Abraham Heschel and Mordechai Kaplan:
"What do we mean when we speak to God;" "Who decided what is the correct Jewish way of life;" "How can a modern Jew honestly believe in Torah?"; "How does the problem of evil make us
Montreol Jewish hospltol names patient ombidsmon
MONTREAL — The Jewish General hospital here has named a patient relations representative, ihe first Canadian hospital to do So.
Mrs. Peggy Lehaie said her task is to try "to humanize the patient's hospitalization period" as "the patient's friend" from admission to discharge. She said she was an ombudsman but preferred the description of patient relations representative.
She is authorized to present complaints by patients to appropriate hospital officials.
MALA BALSHINE (left) and GERRY CLAMAN will star in Metro Theatre's production of the comedy, "A Majority of One." The play runs Nov. 15 to 24, 8:30 p.m., at Metro Theatre, 1370 S, W. Marine Drive. Mrs Balshine plays the role of Alice Black and Mrs. Claman the part of Mrs. Jacoby, a lonely Jewish widow attracted to a lonely Japanese gentleman, Mr. Osano, played by Sam Payne. They are supported by a strong local cast, including several pretty Geisha girls, spokesmen stated. The play is directed by Otto Lowy. Tickets are available from Metro at 266-7191. Shown in the theatre foyer and lounge will be a special display of weaving by local craftsman Patricia Wheeler.

MANY CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES OFFER JUDAICA
MONTREAL — Six Canadian universities offer major programs in Jewish studies and a large number of universities offer courses in Jewish studies and Biblical studies, the Canadian Foundation for Jewish Culture has reported.
The six universities are McGill, Sir George Williams and Montreal university, all of Montreal; the University of Toronto and Yorl university of Toronto; and the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.
The other schools are Lawson College, Loyola university and Vanier College in Montreal, John Abbott College in Ste. Anne de Eellevue in Quebec, McMaster university in Hamilton, Queens university in Kingston, British Columbia university in Vancouver, the University of Waterloo and Waterloo Lutheran university, the University of Western Ontario in London, Carleton university in Ottawa, and the University of Windsor.

JERUSALEM — More than 1,000 volunteers from abroad who arrived in Israel since the war broke out, supplemented by an additional 1,000 volunteers still arriving, are assisting on kibbutzim most severely hit by call-up.
