The Robertson Church is an old wooden building off Commercial Drive in Vancouvler's East side; The interior is plain, uncarpeted, and on the day of these observations, the heat had broken down. It performs its religious functions mainly on Sundays.
When it is not a church, however, the Ibtuildihg is sometimes the scene 6f children's recreational activities, and on Monday afternoons since January, a prograhfi for children aged 4 to 10 has been run by the Jewish Com-,munity Centre's Tieen Leadership

According to Gerry Zipursky, "One goal was to give the teens a broadery perspective, to bring them into contact with less privileged people."

Airlines receive iiuAierolis requests for Kosher food
NEW YORK—Airline officials have discovered that passengers don't have to be Jewish to enjoy kosher mealjs.
In fact, according to reports, many passengers these days ordering kosher meals during flights aren't Jewish.
This discovery came to light as more passengers began ordering kosher meals when airline companies recently began to to cut back on the number of meals or the quantity of food served as part of an economy drive by airline companies.
Regular freiB in-flight meals are served by all airlinies on long haul flights,. Jewish passengers who want kosher meals can get them if requested 24 hours prior to flight time.
Those who do, get relatively
palate-ous meals that are usiial more elaborate than the economy class fare: brisket of beef on tt kosher menu has for some tim looked more appetizing to ti other passengers who are chomp ing on a piecie of hamburger o roast beef.
But airline officials, presum ably working on the theory tha 'nourish-keif is akin to 'narish keif,' have devised their own w of combatting the rising koshe food requests.
On short-haul flights that fea ture sandwiches, those orderi kosher food get kosher sand wiches.
There's a lesson in all thi spokesmen stated: you don't hav to be Jewish to enjoy a go kosher sandwich, in fact yo don't even have to be koshe
