1974 BOND DRIVE
CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE
The year 1974 could mark a decisive turning point in Israel's history. No matter what happens—1974 must be a year of reconstruction and development for Israel.
The history of the past two-and-a-half decades has taught us that Israel's political independence has been sustained in great meosure by its economic strength.
In this crucial year, when Israel's economy stoggers under massive costs of survival, when full notional productivity must be restored, it becomes extremely urgent to moke certain that Israel will have sufficient economic strength for a more secure future.
Today we mourn the 3,000 who gave their lives to save Israel and tha future of the Jewish people. The cause for which they died is our cause.
In their memory, Vancouver Jewry will rededicote themselves and their resources to the best of their ability, to the building of the State for which they died. By what we do on this solemn occasion, the first onni-versary of the Yom Kippur War, by lending our means through Israel Bonds here and now, will give the full meaning to their sacrifice and renewed expression to the solidarity between us and our brothers and sisters in Israel, that they con count on Vancouver Jewry for 100% participation in the purchose of Israel Bonds.
My Vice-chairmen, the Executive Board and I join with our families to wish all our Brethren both abrood and here o very Healthy and Happy New Year. May Shalom come to Israel!
