Friday, September 6, 1974—THE BULLETIN—11
'WOMEN'S WAY' theme—to help ensure Israel's future and a vigrorous economy—was accentuated August 26 as a large number of supporters attended a 'Sponsor Breakfast' of the Women's Division, State of Israel Bonds. Some of the women in attendance at the event in the International Suite of the Bayshore Inn are pictured below, and at right Women's Division chairman Mrs. Julius Balshine is seen introducing special guest speaker, Michael Arnon, international president, State of Israel Bonds.

ZESTFULGOLDENERS ENJOY SKAGIT TOUR
"I have seen more in this one day than I can ever remember in my life." "I don't want this day ever to end."
I overheard remarlts like these at the most successful Golden Age outing of the year. On Aug. 20 at 8:30 a.m., despite dull weather, 40 determined, enthusiastic senior citizens boarded a bus at the Centre to prove that Life Begins at 65 - 75 - or even 80.
In my work with the Golden Agers at the Jewish Community Centre these past two years I have discovered that age does not necessarily affect the level of participation. Older people can and do change, and continue to grow intellectually and emotionally.
In planning our summer trips Ann Temkin and I decided to make them both educational and informative. A tour of Dairyland, Venice Bakery, Vancouver Art Gallery, a three-day trip to Spokanes World Fair, and a nature walk on top of Mount Seymour were only part of the plan. By far the most triumphant venture was the Aug. 20 13-hour Skagit Valley tour.
After a four-hour bus ride to New Halem, Washington the Golden Agers were raring to go

deep into the rugged beauty of one of the most spectacular areas to be found anywhere. Keeping up with the rest of the tour group these plucky Golden Agers ran, jumped and leaped their way through the trip, which included a ride on top of a double-decker bus, a trip on an incline railway 600 feet up the mountain to reach Ross Lake, an hours trip on an open boat, and a tour of Ross Dam and powerhouse.
The feature item of the tour was a colorful walk through
the Rock Gardens to Ladder Creek Falls. I can't tell you how proud I was as I watched the zestful Golden Agers climbing up the steep stairways as the trail winded upward through the nature gardens and over the suspension bridge.
At 9:30 p.m. as we unloaded the bus and I looked at their bright shiny faces I asked, "Are you tired?", but the only answer I received was, "How soon can we go back again?"
