(TSVISHN UNZ ALEIN) By LAZAR
Hear and there — Another call goes out this week for our young people who may have graduated from universities or colleges here and out-of-town but whose names have not yet been published. Our gal Margaret Davis would love to hear from you, your families or friends, weekdays at 879-6575, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. . . . Some excited JWB readers reported watching NBC evening news last week with a segment on the West Bank featuring none other than Dr. Mordechai Nisan about whom they had read recently in these pages (JWB May 31, Editor*s View) . . . Kinderlach, help your Combined Jewish Appeal canvasser to enjoy the great summer weather, too. Greet her or him and share your responsibility for communal efforts here at home and all over the larger Jewish world community ... This Sunday is the day to drop off your clean, saleable items, 1 to 4 p.m. for resale Monday at NCJW Thrift Sale at the Centre starting 9 a.m. . . . Announcement is included this week of a special grade 8 and 9 High School at Talmud Torah. Call principal Tom

Figures ranging from $60,000 to $368,000 are being heard with reference to the recent rersale of the Oak and 41st JCC parking lot. Elected new president of TEAM. (The Electors Action Movement) was Martin Zlotnick.
Beryl Fox was a recent welcome visitor in town on a swing through Canada on behalf of Sinrfacing Film Production which is filming Margaret Atwood's well known novel Surfacing . . . Former Winni-pegers may remember Beryl and her family — her Dad ran a store in the now famous North End and Beryl is one of Canada's intellectua^ and artistic elite who came from thatarea . . . Her hubby, by the way, is Douglas Leiterman whose contributions to radio, TV and film in Canada are legendary. Many will connect ham instantly with This

JWB reader in Winnipeg Leible Hershfield has written that he's interested in assisting our JCC with its projected Hy Lepkin memorial cardio-vascular testing lab which you and he read about in this corner recently (JWB April 26) . ., Leible notes that he knows people who played on a 1923^24 team with Hy Lepkin and that he has a team photo .. Leible, by the way, is preparing a book on Jewish athletes in Western Canada, an historical documentation from the early 1890s to the present to preserve for future generations the contribution made by these people to the growth and development of sport... All JWB readers who have information, details, photos, names, etc. which will contribute to the book, can write: Leible Hershfield, 785 Queenston St., Winnipeg R3N 0X8 or caU (204) 489-4254.
