Rai2el Spector was installed as the new president of Vancouver Council, Pioneer Women-Na'amat on July 10.
Affiliated with Pioneer Women since her Habonim days, Raizel Spector is,a life member of the organization and helped found Omna chapters both in Winnipeg and in Vancouver, where she has resided since 1976. She is the daughter of Esther Cohen, who was one of the founding members of Pioneer Women in Toronto and past president of club one in Toronto.

slates services
Summer Sabbath service .at Temple Sholom, on Friday, July 13, will be conducted by Rabbi Richard Messing commencing 8:15 p.m. in the sanctuary at 4426 W. 10th avenue.
Ritual chairman David Jacobs will lead the Congregation in worship while Rabbi Messing is on holiday, conducting services at 8:15 p.m. on both July 20 and 27. Topics for his sermons will be "Cities of Refuge- on July 20 and "Hear Out Low and High Alike*^ on July 27.

Announce Schara Tzedeck services
Congregation Schara Tzedeck will tisher in Shabbat Friday services on July 13 and 20 at 7 p.m. in the main sanctuary, chanted by Cantor Moshe Preis. Candle-lighting time both weeks is'7:15 p.m.
Services Saturday mornings, July 14 and 21 begin at9 a.m. with Cantor Preis conducting the services and Reverend William Shuster reading the Torah. A congregational kiddush will follow the services.

Sephardic sets service schedule
The Sephardic Congregation will hold kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday, July 13, 8:30 p.m. at Beth Hamidrash synagogue, 3231 Heather. _
Saturday, July 14 morning services commence 9 a.m. G. Aharon will read the Torah and conduct a brief study-session during the services. Congregation kiddush follows, sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Setton. At 8 p.m. Saturday, G. Aharon will conduct a class in Pirkei Avot, followed by Mincha and Sholosh Seudos, sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. CHackel Kaufman.
Maariv/Havdallah services concludes the Shabbat activities.
Morning services are at 9 a.m. on Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday.
The above schedule of Shabbat and daily services will also be in effect for the week commencing July 20.
The kiddush-luncheon July 7 was sponsored by Marc Zelcer in memory of his late parents.
Schedule Beth Tikvah services
Beth Tikvah Congregation will hold Shabbat services on Fridays, July 13 and 20, 8 p.m. at the synagogue, 9711 Geal road, Richmond.
Volleyball for adults continues through the summer each Monday, 8 p.m. at Beth Tikvah.

VIENNA — Austrian television has inaugurated a series of bimonthly Jewish, religious broadcasts, entitled 'Sabbath Sermon.'
Lion's Gate sets barbecue July 29
Lion's Gate B'nai B'rith will hold a kosher barbecue on Sunday, July 29, 5 p.m., at the home of Chaim and Susie Micner, 6949 Cambie.
Lodge president Harry Baker has invited all members, friends and their families to participate in the event, which will feature "lots of food, refreshments, fun and entertainment."
If rained out, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, August 5.

Beth Israel's weekday summer services, through to mid-August, will be held at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Sundays and holidays, the services begin at 9 a.m. Services are held in the Bet Midrash (Groberman Chapel) in an informal atmoshpere.
