There will be many unusual features on the Jewish National Fund Chanuka Tour to Israel being led jointly by Col. Yehuda Levy of JNF aiid Rabbi Baruch Zaichyk of Schara Tzedeck. The group departs for 21 days from Vancouver, Dec. 12 and returns Jan. 2, with all five-star hotels included. Call Col. Levy for details and registration at 266-4191. Israel Bonds, by the way, are accepted as part payment, a point that should be noted with the Israel^ Bond campaign looming as the next major drive on the community calendar... Mazal tov to localite Dr. Cecil Sigal recently elected president of the Pacific Northwest Dermatolo-gical Society.
A guide book is available from the CJC office in the Centre or the local immigration oftice with details on how a group of five adult Canadian citizens can adopt a Vietnamese refugee family which would thereby be admitted over-and-above the present federal quota of 8,000^ families . . . Adopting groups would have a one-year responsibility for housing, food and settlement while the government would provide travel to Vancouver, language training, job retraining and some interpreter's services.

Some 30 women from across Canada attended the annual general meeting of UIA Women's Division in Toronto recently to elect officers, set goals and chart plans for the coming year . . . National co-presidents, Lois Raphael of Vancouver and Faigie Zimmerman of Montreal, presided . . . The six-year-old Women's Division reported successful campaigns in 12 major communities across Canada as well as a top notch National, Mission to Israel each year . .. For the past two years their mission included Eastern
Europe — a first for any Canadian
organization.

There may be a lot of local gals golfing, sunning and otherwise delightfully idling away the summer, but one group of young women here are putting some extra zest into their lighter seasonal routine by gathering informally once a week in the daytime for a participatory Judaic study group learning experience... They are exploring many paths of Jewish learning and will utilize the tape library as well of Rabbi Baruch Zaichyk's Mini-Series from the past season . . . Now it seems that there are a number of young people who want to get together for a similar type of session in the evening when they can make it. . .
