JERUSALEM — Major-General Avigdor. Ben-Gal, the head of Northern Command, has caused a storm by referring to the Arabs of Galilee, who are Israeli citizens, as**a cancer in the heart of the State.**
He was speaking to a group of Knesset members touring the Golan ' Heights and said that Jewish settlement in the area had **very nearly reached sa.tui:a.tion point.**
General Gal told the visiting parliamentarians: **We must gear our settlement activities to Galilee instead. Half a million Arabs live there.** It was then that he described them as **a caiicer.**
They were increasingly identifying themselves with the Palestine Liberation Organization and regarded themselves as ''the advance guard of Arab nationalism, waiting only for the right opportunity to overthrow us,** General Gal added.
Israel should, in no circumstances, be prepared to give up the Golan

U.N. film on Palestinians ready for
distribution
UNITED NATIONS - The Palestinians the controversial U.N.-produced film about the Mideast conflict as seen by the Palestine Liberatioin Organization and its supporters, which was to have been shown last year and then withdrawn at the last moment because it was not considered **pro-Palestinian** enou-. gh by the FLO, is completely revised now and ready for distribution, it was learned here.
The film was produced by the U.N. Palestinian Unit last year at the request of the Palestine Committee. It cost $80,000 and depicted the Mideast conflict with Israel as the **heavy** and the Palestinians as the **innocent victims.**
The film was sharply denounced by Israel and Jewish groups as "biased** and •*one-sided.**
The premier was scheduled for Nov. 29 of last year, which also was marked by the U.N. as "Palestine Day^**' But at the last moment the PLO decided the film should be re-edited to include more scenes of Palestinian-related activities.
The new version of the half-hour-long film includes Palestinian youngsters in combat training, and the celebration of last year*s Palestine Day at the U.N. The new version has been approved by the Palestine Committee.
Sources here said the film will be available for sale on the "free market** and attempts will be made to sell it to various TV stations around the world, including the United States.
Heights, even in exchange for peace with Syria, he stated.
Ezer Weizman, the Defence Minister, immediately issued a stern reprimand. He told General Ben-Gal that he had no right to make political statements and that his remarks about the Galilee Arabs were unacceptable.
Predictably, the general has been praised by the Right wing and denounced by the Left.
He later apologized, saying that he had not intended to attack Isi»ers Arabs.
"To the best of my knowledge, the sharp language skttributed to me by the mediia concerning what I had to say about th« Arabs of Galilee is not accurate,** General Ben-Gal said.
He added: "When I spoke about a disease being neglected, I was referring to the neglect of Galilee as a disease, not the Arabs of Galilei.**

were screened world-wide.
The Union of Italian Jewish Communities has written to Turin police, asking why the daubing was not erased immediately it was seen, instead of being seen by millions of viewers.
The letter also asked whether an investigation had been opened, and whether those responsible for the daubing had been identified. If so, would any legal action be taken against them, the letter concluded.
