^In leoent yeais. UBC schools of 'planning and~ architecture have e^biished close ties .with many, academics, and ^ professional. in Israel As a result, the school of community aind regional planning is offering a one month full-credit intensive workshop in Jerusaleni in May of this'year.'
The workshop is oiganized as part of the extra-sessional studies program^ under direction of Michael Seelig. / associate professor in the planning school, and Michael Turnery head of the environmental planning unit for the Jerusalem municipality.
A group of 20 architecture and planning students will take part in this ^workshop, which will concentrate on the rehabilitation of a residentiaJ nei^boriiood in the heart of Jerusalem.
Several local experts will partid-pate in the program, acting as visiting critics and as lecturers on topics such as planning, social programs^ architecture, and archae-: ology.
The students will be housed in a small hotel in the Old City and will work in studio S|^ce provided by the Bezalel Academy, thus enabling
