The . building of three new kibbutzim in the Galilee is now a reality because of funds donated by generous individuals in Western Canada, according to Jewish National Fund shaliach Col. Yaen Vered. The kibbutzim in question are being built under the umbrella of the JNF Galil-Canada project.
"Because of the foresight of the late Dave Nemetz of Vamcouver, a JNF benefactor," said Vered, "we have been able to utilize the provision in his will as leaving $ 1.08 million to JNF as security to obtain a loan from an Israeli bank. As a result, we are in a position to build Kibbutz Kadarim.
"It is also highly important for the JNF to obtain long-term commitments of this kind during the lifetimes of individuals, even if the present contribution is on a smaller scale., It provides us with crucial knowledge on how to budget in the coming years and give? us tKe means of obtaining loans for buifding of future projects in thie Galil."
Henry and Sara Libin of Calgary have made the largest single commitment from the Alberta-Saskatchewan region to the Galil-Canada project, donating $1.08 'million to the JNF to sponsor the religious settlement of Kalanit in

Kibbutz Ravid, the third beneficiary of Western Canadian generosity, is sponsored by Glad Tidings Temple and several Christian churches in Vancouver. Despite the sever economic conditions. Glad Tidings has honored more than one-third of its commitment of $1.08 million.

TORONTO — Dennis McDer-mtitt, president of Canadiai^ Labor Federation (CLP), said he rejected a pro-PLO resolution overwhelmingly adopted at the recent convention of the Ontario Federation of Labor (OFL) and that he was prepared to test the issue at the next meeting of the CLFs executive council.
The OFL, which represents some 800,000 trade unionists, recognized the PLO as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. But the OFL*s president,^^ Clifford Pilkey, later interpreted that endorsement as being conditional oh the PLO's recognition of Israel.
McDermott denounced the PLO last July as a terrorist organization.
Meanwhile, Mira Koschitzky, chairperson of Canadian Jewish Congress* Ontario region, sent a telegram to the OI^ taking sharp issue with its recognition of the PLO.
Koschitzky reminded the OFL that lisrael is the only state in the Middle East with ifree trade unions.
