vtrumped-up charges, hie w^ placed in a cell for interrogation. ; One vpf his questioners w^ an officer who was seriously interested in Judaism. He asked him: **Rabbi, after Adam sinned and hidfG-d asked him 'Whteire arc you?'( Ayekah) If G-d knows all; did He not know where Adam was?**
^Answered theRebbe: "You believe the Torah i$ eternal?**
'^Yes;^ .i.'^"^;'-:-''-v'.: ' ...
. "Then the meaning is that always,- in every generation, a voice goes Qiit to every person from the Almighty. It says: Ayekah? Where are-you? Where are, you going in the world? Have you fulfilled the purpose that G-d set for you?**
The interrogator, was impressed by the Rabbi*s answer, and tried to free liipi.^
Today it*s hard to know where we are. Mixed in with mitzvdt arid Torah, good deecls and prayers,'is a forest of tieniptations arid time-wasters that draw us away from our holy neshama.
Adam ate froin the Tree of Knowledge. G-d confronted him: "Have you eaten from the tiree that I coriiirianded you riot to eat?** Wliy stress -:- "that I commanded you not to eat.. .?** ' *Buta verse says: "Stolenivaters are weet.. .**G-d demanded: "Adamt Did yoti eat from the tree because I said not to? Because it was forbidden, were you tempted to taste it?**
Today we are beyond thdt. Wfo^ is forbidden today? Are there any sins? Is there any shame?
Ayikafity^hcre areyout W^s can'hide in a demoralii^ world, but still G-d*s voice searchj^ us out. Torah and a Jew belong together. _ ' ^
. Adani was ashamed .because he was naked; we vaa&t be dressed with conimandments.
G-d told. Adam: "Becauseyoii are naked, should you sink into more sins?** .
May ttiis year bring redemption to Israel, Amen. Shabbat Shalom.

photos in The Bulletin have revealed the painstaking batr tie of the courageous five-year-old who is now back with his family, starting school and returning gradually to a more-or-less normal existence. Among the few remaining outward signs of his ordeal are a regimen of lifelong drugs to combat rejection and regular medical monitoring.
In adfdition to a flow of donations, small and large. Bulletin readers have become persorially involved expressing concern, interest, and devotion. "How is David doing?** has b^n a common query to JWB Staff over the past months. As he made progress, took his first steps again, walked, then visited home for half-days at first, the community rejoiced in the miracle of Davidls new lease on life.
